Unfortunately the dinner was not able to be held this year. Other functions such as the successful lunch held earlier this year will be planned and announced in the near future.

The 2011 Annual Dinner will be held this year at the Hackney Hotel, 95 Hackney Road, Hackney on Friday 21st October at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the Dinner this year will cost $70 and a $5 discount will again apply to those Old Collegians who are Financial Members (besides current annual Members includes: Life Members, clergy, immediate past students from 2010 and those becoming a financial member when purchasing dinner tickets).
Tickets can be purchased by including you name, address, phone contact and number along with cheque/money order or credit card details (please include expiry date) to The Treasurer, CBCOCA Inc., GPO Box 2707, Adelaide, SA 5001. Tickets will be posted to you in return.

President’s Report

Extract from The Gym – Spring 2009

Dear Fellow Old Collegians,

Once again the Old Collegians’ Association ended the Birthday week of the College with a Back to CBC afternoon tour and barbecue. On Sunday August 16th a number of old boys and companions took advantage of the balmy weather and enjoyed a barbecue lunch before heading off on a comprehensive tour of the school.

Noel Mifsud, Principal of CBC, explained the College’s building developments and unveiled the plans for the  rebuilding of the Junior School. This certainly promises to be an outstanding development for the College and  will help maintain CBC’s proud reputation as a leader in boys’ education.

The 2009 Annual Dinner will be held this year at the Morphettville Junction in the Stables Ballroom (470 Anzac Hwy, Camden Park) on Friday 16 October at 7.00 pm.

Tickets for the Dinner this year will cost $65.00 and a $5 discount will again apply to those Old Collegians who are Financial Members. This means that if you are a Life Member (which includes members of the clergy), an existing 08/09 Financial Member (including immediate past students from 2008), or wish to become a Financial Member for 09/10 (by paying for the Dinner and Membership Subscription of $25), then the price of your Dinner ticket will be reduced to $60.00. As we must pre-sell the dinner tickets, we seek your co-operation in returning your details and money via this letter to:

Why become a financial member of the Old Collegians’ Association?

The Old Collegians Association is primarily about fellowship, providing a formal link between you and the school that played a major role in the formation of the person you are today, and also with other former students of the College.

But it’s more than that.

The Association is also about giving something back, about keeping the generous christian spirit of Edmund Ignatius Rice alive.

To this end the Association annually provides, through your subscriptions, a year 8 scholarship to someone, chosen by the Principal, who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to attend the College. Furthermore, the Association also provides several end of year prizes to students in recognition of meritorious academic performance.

Without your financial contributions this would simply not be possible.

There are two types of membership available, Life and Annual.

• The cost of Life Membership is a one off payment of $250.
• The cost of Annual Membership is $25 per year.

Please consider becoming a financial member of the Old Collegians Association if you have not already done so. The Executive Committee guarantee your money will be put to good use in assisting others.
